Education plays an indispensable role in contributing to the prosperity and growth of a particular nation. It is argued that science subjects should receive more funding compared with other subjects. Despite this I tend to disagree with this point of view, as other areas of study play as crucial a role as science does.
It is an undeniable fact that these days and age, our life is changing significantly day by day and most domains especially technology, manufacture, construction and other sectors are improving dramatically because of teaching of science subjects. It is known that science consists of such subjects biology, chemistry, physics and computer science, and most breakthroughs are invented in medicine, agriculture and IT sectors due to studying them. Thus, some argue that more budget money should be spent on educating science subjects. To epitome, Japan's education system is the best system in the world and according to statistic information, in Japan, just over 70% of GDP and budget are invested to teach science subjects per annum. Consequently, robotics, medicine and automobile industries are better than other countries in the view of investing more money for teaching science subjects. Moreover, quite a few serious diseases's remedy are found in Japan and most technologies which are useful for our life are produced in Japan, as science subjects have already improved because of spending on budget money for these subjects. Therefore, examples like this clearly show that investing money for teaching science subjects plays an important role in the growth of a nation.
On the flip side, directing more financial resources to instructing science is limiting progress in other crucial sectors of a country. First of all, learning and teaching foreign languages should give no less attention than science subjects because of their impact on a nation's economy, politics and in general progress, as large- scale business meetings are conducted in foreign languages especially English and even science books are written mostly in English since the majority of information and content on t the internet is in English. Aside from languages, creative subjects such as art and crafts, should be seen as equal to science, for not all students are interested in science subjects, and it would simply be a waste of resources to invest in science more if this is the case. The role of art and craft is particularly noteworthy in keeping traditional values as well as traditions, through pieces of art from paintings to sculptures to songs. So, instances like this clearly illustrate that investing money for other areas of study plays as crucial a role as science does.
By way of conclusion, I do not entirely support the idea of funding science more than other subjects. While science plays an important part for progress in certain disciplines, it surely is not the key to economic, political and cultural development.
