2023-01-05 16:25:05 It’s been a while that I didn’t appear here. I was busy looking for something useful to share with you. Finally, I did it. I can bet my bottom dollar that it is important for you to be constantly observing some youtube channels based on your profession or field of study (considering most people here are students).

I always say, and will say again that youtube is by far the most useful, informative, instrictive platform out there if it is used properly, so use it to your own advantage.

For example, I get used to observing this channel (press the shaded) to stay informed of what’s going on in the criminal world, and how culprits are being judged.

I wouldn’t mind if you shared your own favorite youtube contents or channels in the comments section.

Some suggestions cost money; however, I will not be charging you for a profoundly expensive piece of advice. Visit this website https://www.pewresearch.org/ where you can find a treasure trove of reports written in an IELTS task1-like language.

Many students cannot reach as high as a 7.5 in writing because of their poorly-written task 1. Now you guys, I am sure, can master your task 1 language. All you do is just to go to the site, and read the articles found there every second day.

Do not share this with any outsiders because it is so costly. /s.

2022-12-29 16:30:06 FIVE SOURCES from which you have to read every day

Wired Magazine - if you had looked at the acknowledgments part of Cambridge practice books, you might have already noticed that some of the reading test passages come from Wired Magazine.

New Scientist - it is most frequently used source in IELTS reading, so make sure that you read articles from there, at least, every other day.

Aeon - this website provides only long reads, and the very short articles may contain 3000 words.

The New American - this is also no less important source full of information, and good language as well.

National Geographic Magazine - stories in this website are not only enlightening, but informative and entertaining, so don’t forget to visit there.

If you start to enjoy reading articles from all of these sites, probably you will never come up with the question saying “how can I improve my reading?”.

2022-12-25 17:00:06 HOW TO IMPROVE LISTENING?

As I know that many take the wrong approach to boost their listening skills, I came to write something about it. What I am referring to by saying the wrong approach is that they are obsessed with testing themselves, which is unfortunately not a good thing. They say that they finished all Cambridge books, and all practice tests, but they are stuck at a particular score, say, 6.5 or 7.0. What’s wrong with them?

It was also the case with me back in the days that I was preparing for my first IELTS exam, and I admit that I was obsessed with assessing my listening skills. Imagine that you have 100$, does counting it again and again increase its amount? No,
you don’t see any profits unless you invest your budget in something. The same goes true with listening as well. You see the same results until you don’t put in hours and hours listening to podcasts, watching movies, exposing yourself to the true nature of English.

I don’t want you to be running through the misled pathway, so I am going to recommend some of the YouTubers that you can follow to enhance your listening, and following them will also help you get used to the native-like environment. Joe Rogan, Jordan Peterson, Penguinz0s’ contents are those who I regularly enjoy watching. Quite recently, I have made a post mentioning the YouTube channels that I follow.

The last thing to be told is I wouldn’t say that you get a lot of benefits from BBC Learning English podcasts which are quite overrated by many students learning English in Uzbekistan. It actually depends on your level of English. If you are enjoying them, keep it up.

Here they are

2022-12-24 11:31:48 WHO AM I?

You(newcomers) might be wondering who I am. I am an 18-years-old guy studying in TSUL as a sophomore. I have no more to talk about myself because I know that you are particularly here to get some IELTS-related help. It is the second time that I took the test, and I ended up with a 7.0 in my very first attempt, with the second one being an 8.0. It’s nearly been a couple of years since I got a 7.0 which dates back in the beginning of 2021. Though there was a two-years time difference between my two exams, I didn’t took the entire time to prepare for the test as I had to focus on other subjects to get into university. To be honest with you, I started to ruthlessly expose myself to English in summer to get an 8.0, and this means it took roughly 6 months to achieve that score.

As a band 8.0 holder, I think I am entitled to give you some advice on how to prepare for IELTS or for each component of it. If you have any questions, you can ask in the comments section.

P/s: My IELTS prep is yet to continue until I get an 8.5, so we can prepare here together.

Here is my result. I took the test on December 10. I could have done better, honestly. I have to admit that listening was not that difficult, but a little bit tricky. Reading, however, seemed to be a real horror. I am not exaggerating at this point, but from passage one to passage three I had difficulty finding correct answers. Speaking didn’t live up to my expectations as I was sure that it is gonna be 8.0 as soon as I said goodbye to Tim. Writing is the only thing that I can take pride since I got 7.5 regardless of task 1 left unfinished.

I believe that from now on I can help you achieve your IELTS goals with this channel since I have proven credible scoring what you can see above.

P/s: my IELTS TRF is about to come. I hope that my picture in that will be to my liking:)

2022-12-21 18:00:57 Some people think that organizing international sports events is good for the host country while others think it is bad.
Discuss both views and state your opinion.

There are some people believing that hosting sports championships may place an extra burden on a country’s economy. However, I agree with those who tend to consider that such events bring a number of benefits to the hosting country.

Certain people think that organizing international sports tournaments might be detrimental to the host country, especially, to those which are not financially stable enough to host such events. Hosting countries should build stadiums, hotels to accommodate visitors, and this requires a lot of money. Take World Cup 2022, for example. Qatar that took responsibility for organizing this tournament spent a great deal of money which can be channeled to improve infrastructure: roads, schools, hospitals to name just a few. Qatar is now predicted to suffer from this over expenditure in the years to come.

Others, on the other hand, myself included, feel that hosting sports competitions is of great significance as this brings fame to the host nation. That is why many countries want to host such events that are considered to be a rare opportunity to gain recognition. Another favorable side of this is that many people can be employed to construct needed buildings for the event, as a result of which employment rate of a country becomes higher.

In conclusion, although it has to be admitted that it is not advisable for the developing countries to host such events since it may burden their economy, it is, in my opinion, far more beneficial for those countries having strong economy as this helps them earn some fame, and increase the chance of people in the host country to be hired for the short time.

2022-12-21 14:36:02 The illustration demonstrates the production of chocolate. Overall, it can be obviously seen that there are nine steps by which chocolate is manufactured, from cacao tree from which pods are harvested to molding. Also, some machines are involved in the process.

First of all, cacao trees are needed, and ripe red pods are harvested. Then white cacao beans are extracted from the pods after which they run through fermentation process for 2-10 days. Next, they are laid on the ground in order to be exposed to the sun. The following stage is that beans are roasted in 120-150C.

Once they are roasted, external shells are taken away from beans which can be then ground with the help of crushing machine. The next step involves conching through which inner part of beans is pressed to produce chocolate liquid. After that, produced liquid is tempered in the rectangular frame. Finally, the entire process culminates in molding.
