Over 150 countries recognized Uzbekistan as a sovereign democratic republic.
Among them:
China - on December 27, 1991
United States - recognized Uzbekistan as independent entity in the international arena on December 25, 1991.
On March 20, 1992, a protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations was signed with Russia, and
Uzbekistan was recognized as an independent state.
Uzbekistan is
full-fledged member of such prestigious organizations as the UN, the OSCE, the CIS, the Organization of Turkic States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
More than 120 nationalities and peoples live here in peace and harmony.
Uzbekistan's 36 million population is likely to reach 40 million in 2030 and
50 million in 2040. We are a country with a
3000-year history of statehood.Therefore, any
doubts and conflicting opinions about independence of the post-Soviet countries have nothing to do with Uzbekistan.
