Is networking overrated?

In my opinion, networking is overrated to a great extent, especially, in the minds of many people interested in entrepreneurship/politics.

I'm not saying that it is not important, but the idea itself is religiously worshiped by the majority though it is the fairly-indirect by-product of many underlying factors.

I won't count all the root factors, but the first and foremost one is one's worth. For instance, Joe Rogan is a 100 million dollar guy followed by millions, and he could not have networked with Elon if he had not been that important or valuable.

In other words, in networking, a person whom you wanna be friends with should see your value by taking your networking hands. Let's say you are super-good at sales and have enough experience to say that you are an expert: just offer them your experience for free by giving some value to them, like consulting on how to improve sales department or sales figures, you name it. When they see your value, they are far more likely to be friends with you because you are an important person for them now.

But if you are a nagging ass, but cannot do anything, the people whom you are gonna be friends with will definitely be those who are good at gossiping and talking, but cannot do any shit.

So, now forget about networking and get your shit together first. Do your homework. Become so valuable/important (useful, interesting, funny, making-people-popular, famous, etc). Eventually, you will definitely have a very strong network. Much better network than now. Even that powerful network per se may well come to take your hands to be friends with you.

A Day to Everybody! Peace.
