The activities of the regional representatives of the Ombudsman will be established

The Presidential Decree "On measures to improve the activities of the Authorized Person of the Оliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman)" was adopted.

According to the Decree, the positions of regional representatives of the Ombudsman, working on a permanent basis in the regions, will be introduced.

Regional representatives of the Ombudsman, particularly:

ensure the observance of human rights, freedoms and legitimate interests, organize and conduct monitoring of human rights;
receive and consider citizens' complaints, assist in the restoration of their violated rights.

Regional representatives of the Ombudsman are directly accountable to the Ombudsman in their activities.

According to the Decree, a new draft law " On the Authorized Person of the Оliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman)" "will also be developed.
