"Working home is not as easy as many people may think. This post is about working in night shifts"
I have great news for you
It's been 2+ weeks since I started working for an American company. Yes, I work online. Yes, I work at night. Yes, it was difficult to pass all the interviews and get selected. Yes, it pays well
But today's topic is about how I am going through this thing. Before marriage, everything seemed so easy. I was working online for a US real estate company (from 4 p.m. till 4 a.m., teaching English (I literally had 4 groups, 1.5 hour lessons, starting from 5 a.m. ), doing translation projects AND taking care of my sister
Right now, looking back, I can't even imagine how my body could handle all of it.
As I finally started working again after a long break (due to my marriage), I realized that I had burn out. My current job is so much better than my previous one. I work from 6 p.m. till 2 a.m. , get paid more, and have much more caring colleagues. However, it is still not easy - especially for a married woman
1. Distractions. We are women. We can't just sit in a messy house and do our thing. If we see some dirty clothes, we wanna wash them asap. Iron them. Vacuum our home. We just want our environment to be so clean Other than that, if you don't live alone with your husband, you will have many other distractions as well.
2. Guests. When you or your husband's relatives visit, and you work all night, and you sleep all day - that's not the very best impression you can leave. You'll have to push yourself to sleep later and make breakfast, or wake up earlier and make dinner for the guests. Especially if you don't want all the relatives to think you're a bad kelinka
3. Sleep. Day time sleep, even if it is 9 hours, is still not enough. Sometimes you will sleep 10 hours and still wake up tired.
But that is not the biggest disadvantage. The biggest disadvantage is that the people around you have a different time zone, which means your neighbors' home construction HAS to be done in the day time - the time YOU have to sleep!
4. Husband. To all the girls who think they'll get married and work online - you'll just wanna spend every minute with the person you love
Next post is about working from home in a normal time zone.
