US State Dept: Washington ready to back Ukraine neutrality if Kiev wants (Kommersant)
First Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman has indicated that the US would be willing to “support the decisions that Ukraine makes for itself”, including the possible neutral status considered by President Zelensky.
"We have been saying from the very beginning of this crisis that we will not do anything with Ukraine without Ukraine. We will not do anything with Europe without Europe. And with NATO without NATO. So, the choice is up to the people of Ukraine,” Sherman said in an interview with Kommersant.
