Dawah Through ActionsWhen Rasulullah ﷺ and Zaid bin Haritha رضي الله عنه were chased out by the people of At-Taif. They threw stones and rocks at them, so much so that Zaid bin Haritha رضي الله عنه was protecting Rasulullah ﷺ from his own body.
They were both given shelter by two Quraish men. The two men sent their servant named Addas, with some grapes to offer them to eat. Rasulullah ﷺ accepted the offer, and he said “
Bismillah” (in the name of Allah) before eating. This word struck Addas’s mind since it was the term that was not used by the people of his area, and since he was a Christian, he was aware of this term.
From here, the conversation began between him and Rasulullah ﷺ he began asking Rasulullah is questions pertaining to prophets, and later on he accepted Islam.
If Rasulullah ﷺ hadn’t said “Bismillah”, Addas wouldn't have raised this query in his mind, and their conversation wouldn't have started. AllahuAlam!
We never know if our one small act of dawah can become a source of guidance for someone else. Don't be ashamed when it comes to practising your own deen in front of others. The act you underestimate might trigger someone in a positive way, and they may end up practising or accepting Islam.
