HOW TO IMPROVE LISTENING?

As I know that many take the wrong approach to boost their listening skills, I came to write something about it. What I am referring to by saying the wrong approach is that they are obsessed with testing themselves, which is unfortunately not a good thing. They say that they finished all Cambridge books, and all practice tests, but they are stuck at a particular score, say, 6.5 or 7.0. What’s wrong with them?

It was also the case with me back in the days that I was preparing for my first IELTS exam, and I admit that I was obsessed with assessing my listening skills. Imagine that you have 100$, does counting it again and again increase its amount? No,
you don’t see any profits unless you invest your budget in something. The same goes true with listening as well. You see the same results until you don’t put in hours and hours listening to podcasts, watching movies, exposing yourself to the true nature of English.

I don’t want you to be running through the misled pathway, so I am going to recommend some of the YouTubers that you can follow to enhance your listening, and following them will also help you get used to the native-like environment. Joe Rogan, Jordan Peterson, Penguinz0s’ contents are those who I regularly enjoy watching. Quite recently, I have made a post mentioning the YouTube channels that I follow.

The last thing to be told is I wouldn’t say that you get a lot of benefits from BBC Learning English podcasts which are quite overrated by many students learning English in Uzbekistan. It actually depends on your level of English. If you are enjoying them, keep it up.

Here they are
