Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio pleads not guilty in January 6 conspiracy case
Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio pleaded not guilty Tuesday to conspiracy charges related to the
Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Tarrio, 38, was indicted in March along with five previously indicted
Proud Boys members. The other men -
Ethan Nordin, Joseph Biggs, Zachary Rehl, Charles Donohue and Dominic Pezzola - also pleaded not guilty. All 6 remain in prison.
The case, one of the largest brought by the
Justice Department, is set to go to trial next month, but prosecutors have asked for a delay in the trial because the indictment could add additional defendants.
In March, prosecutors told a federal judge that they were continuing to investigate the
Proud Boys and believed they had found information to support additional charges.
