Teaching children Quran from a young age.

Children have an advantage of memorizing quicker than adults do. This is a great blessing which shouldn’t be taken for granted. I realized this when my 7 year old sister, memorized a whole page of Surah al-Imran simply by listening to it, when being driven to and from school a couple of times. She also memorized Surah Ma’un just by being in the same room as my mother when she tried to memorize it.

Turn on the Quran around them, recite it when they’re in the same room, eventually it will stick to their mind. Today, people have a bad habit of handing children a phone or put on videos on YouTube, which have no benefit for them whatsoever, only to not be bothered furthermore. If you’re amongst those who do this, pay attention to the amount of songs they’ve probably memorized by watching YouTube. Or the songs they are taught at school. Isn’t it embarrassing how schools regularly teach the children songs until it’s glued to their mind, while you can’t regularly teach them Quran? Don’t waste time and start teaching your siblings/children Quran from a young age, you’ll be surprised at how fast they’ll actually memorize it.
