Some animals are on the verge of extinction . What are the main causes of this extinction and what can be done to lessen the negative impacts ?
Animal extinction has become a serious problem in recent years . Thus , scientists claim that animals , including polar bears and wild koalas are highly likely to go extinct due to global heat and damaging human activity in the following decades . Despite this , governments could take preventive actions to mitigate extinction among species .
To start , the disappearance of many species from our planet can be attributed to global warming , a human-induced issue in the contemporary world . Animal species , such as polar bears are only prevalent in Antarctica , a region where ice layers are melting at an alarming rate . This melting process will , in turn , threaten the lives of polar bears , depriving them of their natural habitats and making them face fatal consequences . Another harmful human activity , logging trees is proving to be dangerous for numerous animal species like wild koalas . According to the recently released article by National Geographic , only around 30000 koalas now exist , and over a third of them are on the brink of complete disappearance . This rarity was primarily caused by cutting down trees and destroying natural areas , which certainly killed thousands of unprotected koalas .
Having said that , country officials’ measures may prevent the situation from exacerbating in the coming future . Alleviated extinction will possibly be achieved through allocating sufficient amount of money to relocate bears to an environmentally secure region of the North Pole . In order to save the lives of wild koalas , however , governments should impose urgent prohibitions on ongoing logging activities or force woodcutters to plant new trees to maintain a balance in true figures . Although these steps are unlikely to be fully effective , they can somehow diminish extinction levels , helping specific animals survive and continue to breed .
In conclusion , while global warming and felling trees seem to put animals’ lives at risk , officials have authority to stop the extinction cases from getting even worse with the movement of some animals to safety zones and the introduction of total bans on illegal logging .
