The law "On the State of Emergency" was signed by the President

A state of emergency is introduced in exceptional cases in the presence of circumstances that directly threaten the life, health and safety of citizens, the constitutional order and (or) territorial integrity and cannot be eliminated without the use of emergency measures.

A state of emergency is imposed by Presidential Decree throughout the territory of Uzbekistan or in certain places.

A state of emergency throughout Uzbekistan cannot exceed 30 days, and in some areas - 60 days.

If the goals of declaring the state of emergency are not achieved, the period may be extended.

During a state of emergency, the following measures and time limits may be imposed:

● full or partial suspension of the powers of state bodies;
● restrictions on movement;
● strengthening the protection of public order, especially important and classified objects;
● restrictions on the implementation of certain types of activities;
● a special procedure for the sale, purchase and distribution of food and basic necessities;
● prohibition or restriction of meetings, rallies;
● restrictions on traffic movement

Special government bodies can be established to ensure the state of emergency, which should include:

State Commission for Emergency Situations;
The district curfew office.

A curfew can be imposed in case of a real external danger. In this case, persons who violated the rules are detained until the end of the curfew.
