The Resolution of the President "On additional measures for the further development of hydropower" was adopted

According to the Resolution, in the electric power industry by 2030 the capacity of hydroelectric power stations in the republic will be increased to 3,416 MW.

The Resolution approved a program of additional measures for the further development of hydropower for 2021-2030.

From January 1, 2022, the electric energy generated by hydroelectric power stations as part of Uzbekhydroenergo JSC will be guaranteed to be released according to the types of activities and the tariff set for consumers of the II tariff group:

● at hydroelectric power stations operating on a water stream - at a rate of 70 percent;
● at hydroelectric power stations regulated by the dispatcher, depending on the mode of the electric power system – in the amount of 100 percent;
● at hydroelectric power stations - at a rate of 150 percent.

Guaranteed purchase of electricity from newly commissioned solar, wind, biogas power stations (with the exception of capacities of 1 MW and more on an industrial scale), hydroelectric power stations with a capacity of up to 5 MW in excess of generation for own needs is carried out in the amount of 80% of the tariff set for consumers of group II.

Moreover, private investors (initiators) have the right to direct supplies on a contractual basis of solar, wind, biogas energy with a capacity of up to 1 MW and electricity generated by hydroelectric power stations with a capacity of up to 5 MW.
