December 3 - International Day of Persons with Disabilities

1983-1992 was designated by the UN as the International Decade of Disabled Persons in order to draw the world's attention to the problem of improving the living standards of people with disabilities. At the end of this decade (October 14, 1992), in accordance with the resolution adopted at the 37th plenary session of the UN General Assembly, December 3 was declared the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

In accordance with this international document, all UN member states, as well as relevant organizations are recommended to regularly create the necessary conditions for a full life, work, education and health restoration of persons with disabilities, furthermore, to widely celebrate this day.
