What are the main goals and stages of development of the tourism sector in 2019 – 2025?

The development goals of the tourism sector of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2019 - 2025 are aimed at transforming tourism into a strategic sector of the national economy and achieving its targets according to the appendix, by diversifying and improving the quality of tourism services, improving tourism infrastructure, including by attracting foreign investment, effective advertising and marketing work.

The main paces of the development of tourism sector are:
in 2019-2020 — institutional reforms to create a solid legislative basis for tourism development, modernization of infrastructure and promotion of the country's tourism brand;
in 2021 — 2025 — an increase in the share of the tourism industry in the country's economy. In this direction, the goal is to increase the share of tourism in the country's gross domestic product to 5 percent (by the end of 2017 — 2.3%), as well as attract more than 9 million tourists by the end of 2025, including 2 million from far abroad countries, by developing the necessary infrastructure and successfully promoting the tourism potential of the republic in world markets;
in the long run, tourism in Uzbekistan will not be limited to achievements in the national economy and can enter the regional and world markets of tourism services as one of the most competitive.
