Mediation process in Uzbekistan
According to the law “On mediation”, mediation is a process of resolving a dispute with the assistance of a mediator on the basis of the voluntary consent of the parties in order to achieve a mutually acceptable solution.
Mediation can be carried out in 3 categories of disputes: disputes from civil matters, including business disputes; individual labor disputes; disputes arising from family relationships.
The activity of a mediator can be carried out on a professional or non-professional basis.
A mediator on a professional basis is a person who got a special training course under the mediators training program approved by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and entered in the Register of Professional Mediators.
A mediator on a non-professional basis is a person who has reached the age of 25 and has given consent to perform the duties of a mediator.
