ERROR WHILE LEARNING PROGRAMMING №1
Don't learn programming if you study
It may sound like discouraging, but yeah, I'm saying what I found bad in my own experience. Before learning programming, you should consider that you need to be able to visualize virtual world as you do real world. For sure, it takes not only much time, but also concentration. It won't be a big problem if you study at school, but when it comes to university or lyceum, it is less likely that you can focus on.
So imagine, during your lessons at lyceum, to spend your time wisely, you are thinking about the solution of task you are given which is about writing efficient query to retrieve data from different tables by using JOINS of SQL (sorry for being a bit technical ) , but suddenly you listen to the words of your teacher, which are "Ergash gapli qo'shma gaplar necha turga bo'linadi?" or "Fotosintez jarayonida hujayralar bilan nima sodir bo'ladi?" (my friends do understand me ). It's nothing than DISTRACTION. Can you again imagine yourself as a person who studies in the faculty of
exact sciences, has classes
not-related to the faculty, but wants to be
a software engineer. Just BINGO! Interestingly, I was that type of person.
Of course, having to be in this kind of situation makes you depressed as far as you see your friends studying nowhere, but learning new skills regularly, and also having time to play CS GO. What an unfairness!
Ok, despite the difficulties above, you could learn programming. However, that's not a finish line. While you apply to job positions, recruiters of most of companies often ask for your regular availability to work which means your education at uni/lyceum shouldn't interfere with your job.
In case IT is your main priority, but you're feeling university is making or will make troubles for you on your path, then never doubt to take a gap year or an academic year. What?! Silly idea? No problem, because you will anyway choose this path.
By making this post, I have no intention to condemn studying at university. Having a higher education is really great. I just wanted to show incompatibility of universities and learning software engineering.
