​​The given table compares the proportion of water consumption in domestic, agricultural and industrial fields in various countries in 2003.

Overall, it is clear that Canada used the highest amount of water in agricultural purposes, compared with other countries in domestic and industrial areas in the given examined year.

In France, the highest amount of water utilized in industrial sector, at 40%, in comparison to 30% in USA and 35% in UK, respectively. However, in term of agriculture, UK used the lowest proportion of water in it, at just 10%, while this figure accounted for 20% in France and 30% in USA in orderly. Furthermore, the figure for domestic use made up 20% of total amount of water in the USA, whereas the proportions were higher in France at 30%, and in the UK, at 35% in 2003.

China used as 25% of water in domestic sector as in industrial part, while the highest amount of water used in agriculture, at 40%. Similarly, in Canada, 15% of water consumed in industry, while this proportion was true for Germany in agricultural field. By contrast, Canada required just 10% of water in domestic sector, whereas, a major portion of water consumption could be observed in the Germany in this area, at 40%. Moreover, 50% of water in Canada went into the agricultural fileds, compared with Germany in industrial filelds, at 30% in 2003.
