Here are the things I do while (somehow) reading a book.

Firstly, I find the audio version of the book, preferably an American one. (Just like this one)
Then, I listen to the audio for as long as I want, to the point that I can retell most parts of the book. I don't read the book (pdf) till I complete this stage. And nowadays, I am starting to look for the new words I don't understand, of course while listening.
Lastly, I start reading the book. And guess what? When I read, I sound like the person in the audiobook.

This method helps to improve my pronunciation and intonation. Nowadays, I am listening to this audiobook. Check it out.
