Dear Friends,

As you may know, I have been appointed as Advisor to the Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade – Director General of the Direct Investment Fund of Uzbekistan. The Fund was recently established to invest in competitive domestic companies, as well as to form long-term mutually beneficial partnerships with private local and foreign co-investors.

Looking back, I would say that it has been my great pleasure and privilege to lead the Capital Markets Development Agency team for the last 2 years. We have worked together as a great team, embraced the challenges and have prepared a comprehensive capital market development strategy for Uzbekistan, towards which you have made a significant contribution.

I am grateful for the relationships we have developed with you over the years, and highly appreciate your commitment and support to our initiative to promote capital markets in Uzbekistan. It is a must have anchor and critical part of the domestic financial system, through which we can invest and build economic prosperity of this great country.

The strength and success we had would not be possible without your support. Going forward, starting from May 1st, the responsibilities of market regulation and development of capital markets will be transferred to the Ministry of Finance, and I am certain they will continue what we started at CMDA, and work as tirelessly as we have, to ensure Uzbekistan develops a successful capital market.

In my new role as CEO of the fund, I will be looking for the opportunity to engage in capital markets, I hope to have a chance to work with you in months ahead.
