Hai community!
How are you doing?
Hope all of you are okay)
Are there Thalassophiles?
I guess there are, right?
Did you know that we wouldn't need to go abroad to see seas, if...
Yes if...
Never did I imagine that I could be this much concerned about this topic.
Personally, I have felt so much disappointed.
I think all of you have already realized what I am talking about.
Yes, it is. The Fourth biggest sea of the world, the Aral sea.
Probably all of you know about its sad fate=/.
The sea that takes its water from Syr Darya had started forming in the Neogene Period.
About a half century ago, in sixties, after the invasion of Soviet Union, the water of Syr Darya and Amu Darya started to be used for Cotton crops. Almost all the water was used up, so the Aral Sea did no longer receive water. This made the fourth largest sea become a "lake". It's water evaporated. This action made animals leave that areas, fishes die, and people suffer. But you know what, Soviets didn't care. All they want was materials for their production.
This is what made that fourth largest sea disappear from the planet Earth. It's size started to shrink, and in last 60 years, almost turned to a salty desert.
However, nowadays everything is about to become better. The UN has started to concern about this issue.
Beside it, there are several countries that are donating to bring the sea back.
Scientific research shows that, unfortunately, it is not possible to recover the whole sea. Nevertheless, we can make it stop evaporating. And this may lead it to become a sea again. (As you know, it is said by several people like, Aral lake ).
The UAE, the country which is rich for a black gold, has started building a hospital around this area, which can help people suffering from salty weather.
To stop this action, a forest is being created in the seabed of this territory.
This can make a change in the weather.
The EU donated $5 million, Norway donated $1 million, and the UAE, additionally to the hospital, donated $6 million more. These are all to help the dying sea.
Thankfully, the fish is coming back in the northern parts.
I hope we can help it. This is not only because I love the seas, but this does also help our planet. Imagine disappearing of an entire sea while the world is suffering from Global Warming!
If me, you, them, we try to help it, we definitely can, I believe. Just take care of how much water you are wasting, and try to avoid wasting it. This is all, for now, we can do.
As I always say, all are my personal perspectives, no need to judge:)
