The bart chart compares the proportion of adults and children | Abdurazzoq Khanov

The bart chart compares the proportion of adults and children in the UK who consumed the recommended intake of fruit and vegetables from 2002 to 2010. Overall, the recommended dietary guideline for fruit and vegetable consumption became more common among both adults and children over the period, despite a downward pattern in the final year. It is also worth noting that while female adults showed consistently higher figures throughout the years, the percentage of children following the diet was negligible during the same timeframe.

Adults, especially women, exhibited much higher figures throughout the period. In 2002, 25% of women followed the advised diet, a figure that then significantly rose to 32% in 2006. Likewise, the proportion of men who followed the dietary advice saw a significant growth from 22% in 2002 to 28% in 2008. After 4 years, however, the percentage of both women and men experienced a considerable drop to 27% and 24%, respectively.

In contrast, the proportion of children eating fruits and vegetables as recommended was noticeably smaller in all years. In the first four years, the figure experienced a significant increase from 11% to 16%, after which a slight decrease to 14% had been observed by 2012.
